Isabelle Chartrand

Isabelle Chartrand is a Quebec-based painter whose practice spans oil on canvas, charcoal, and graphite. Her work is drawn from the quiet language of natural light: the way it settles across a surface, gathers in shadow, and shifts with time.

Isabelle approaches each piece as an act of sustained attention. She is less interested in spectacle than in stillness: the pause before a gesture resolves, the tension between what is represented and what is withheld.
